A part of the Filipino-American experience is the long history of Filipinos migrating from the homeland to America in order to create this life we know today. Kahit Saan Ka Magpunta (Wherever You Go) was created to commemorate the intergenerational cycle my family had gone through to come from a home they had only known to a land that was unknown to them. Being one of the first born Americans in the family, it was made for them to know that I see the sacrifices and struggles they had endured to be able to foster this life we live, it is to show that I recognize this strength in every one of them.
Within this realization, I think of how no matter where you go in life, you will always be connected to your homeland.
